Michelle Rick

Michelle Rick is a New York City based event and street photographer. She was born and raised in Greenwich Village where she still lives. Before taking up photography in 2010, she held jobs in publishing and film and wrote fiction. As a photographer she has shot events including Pride Month and the Coney Island Mermaid Parade for New York City & Company and others, taught workshops at the Click Away Conference, and served as a judge for the London Street Photography, Aussie Street and San Francisco Street festivals. Her images have been exhibited at C/O Berlin, Terrain Gallery in Soho and with the group “Women Street Photographers” at El Museo del Barrio, Artspace PS 109 in New York, Belgium, Russia and Italy, among others. Publications include Time Out New York, The New York Times, Gothamist, Eyeshot Magazine, The New York Observer, and books including Women Street Photographers, edited by Gulnara Samoilova, published by Prestel, and Reclaim The Street: Street Photography’s Moment, edited by Stephen McLaren and Matt Stuart, published by Thames and Hudson. She is a member of the photography collective NYC-SPC. Her monograph, Village Girl, was published by Peanut Press in October, 2021. Her work is currently on exhibit at the Chase Sapphire Lounge at Laguardia Airport in New York.
